Nine months into his appointment with others in Ughelli North Local Government Area, the Press Officer to the Council Chairman, Godspower Isire, has resigned his appointment with the intention for a New Agenda.
It would be recalled that on July 25, 2024, Godspower Isire was appointed Press Officer, (New Media) 7 others in a memo ref:UNLGH 17/96, signed by Assistant Director of Information.
In his post, Isire stated,
Public Notice:
Ughelli North, Deltans and the General Public are hereby informed that I have left my role as Press Officer (New Media) at the Council. My decision is based on mutual understanding.
I extend my gratitude to Olorogun Jaro Egbo Ksc for the opportunity.
Reacting to the the social media post, Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Prince Elvis Oharisi who responded to the statement denied the appointment of the Press Officer.
He said, “Resign? Was he given an appointment ? If yes, I require a copy displayed. You just wake up and start with hate speech.”
Isire in his response, appealed to all his followers not reply Prince Elvis Oharisi as he is a man he respected so much.
Though the rumours of Godspower Isire resignation has been ongoing for awhile, until he personally posted it on his Facebook page on April 15, 2025 with the name ‘Prince Isire’.
Efforts to contact the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman, Mr Efe Ekete was not successful as his line was switched off.
